I started my own software company, Visual Veggies Software, which provides software study materials for nutrition students preparing for their national registration exams.
I have a bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a master's degree in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science from Marywood.
In 2005, I started my own software company, Visual Veggies Software, which provides software study materials for nutrition students preparing for their national registration exams. I learned software development on my own through experimentation and with the help of several resources. I utilize my nutrition knowledge from Marywood to develop the content in the study guide apps.
In 2015, I was featured in Food & Nutrition Magazine, which highlighted one of my favorite accomplishments with the business: Developing a special study guide program for a visually impaired nutrition student. The student has all of the question and answer content spoken to him, and he navigates through the program by way of keystrokes.
The software is available for Mac and Windows desktop computers as well as Apple mobile iOS devices. The study guides are used in over 100 nutrition departments at various colleges and universities throughout the nation and has helped thousands of students become Registered Dietitians.
