Tsuga canadensis

Native to eastern North America. Large evergreen tree grows to 70'. Prefers full sun to partial shade in cool moist, well-drained soils. Can be sheared for hedging. Not tolerant of pollution, salt, heat or drought. State tree of Pennsylvania.
