Stephanie Wise, M.A., ATR-BC, LCAT is a registered and Board Certified member of the American Art Therapy Association as well as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York State. She is a past member of the Art Therapy Credentials Board, past-Treasurer and Board member of the American Art Therapy Association and served on the Ethics Committee of AATA. Stephanie received her BFA from The Cooper Union and her Master's Degree from the Graduate Art Therapy Program at New York University where she also earned her certificate from the International Trauma Studies Program / International University for Mental Health and Human Rights, NYU & Copenhagen University. She has worked and presented in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and across the United States with particular expertise in the area of group therapy dealing with trauma, resiliency, and wellness. Stephanie has been instrumental in creating clinical opportunities for veterans, survivors of natural disasters, the children and first responders of 9/11,
Stephanie has published extensively and most recently was lead author for the book, Healing Trauma in Group Settings: The Art of Co-leader Attunement, which she wrote with her professional colleague, Emily Nash. Published in November, 2019, this book represents the culmination of their 15 years of working together as group therapists.
Stephanie has been teaching at Marywood since 2007.

Art therapist for international camp for children impacted by terrorism & war
Supervisor for Graduate Art Therapy student from Marywood University
Project Common Bond brings together teens, ages 15 - 20 from around the world who share a 'common bond'--the loss of a family member due to an act of violent extremism and war. Launched in 2008, Project Common Bond has so far brought together over 308 teenagers from seventeen different countries and territories including Algeria, France, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and Pakistan to turn their experience of losing a loved one into positive actions that can help others exposed to similar tragedy. Teens gather for a ten-day healing and peace-building symposium in a safe and supportive environment, where they engage in dialogue and community-building activities that acknowledge and respect their differences while promoting friendship and understanding.

FRA works in partnership with the Psychological Services Center of Long Island University at C.W. Post to address urgent and ongoing needs and provide a bridge to external physical and mental health services and help to form connections.FRA works in partnership with FDNY Family Services, the New York State Department of Health, the New York City Mayor’s Office, North Shore LIJ Health System, WTC Medical Monitoring and Treatment Centers in New York and New Jersey, and numerous community associations.
