Graphic Design
Our graphic design program at Marywood will introduce you to a variety of design disciplines, including:
- Publishing
- Advertising
- Corporate identity
- Typography
- Web design
- Multi-media
- Packaging
Conceptual development, technical skills and professionalism are emphasized. Students have the opportunity to work independently, with partners, in small groups, with professionals in the field and real clients. Regular class critiques and portfolio reviews are stressed throughout the program.
We provide an environment that supports and encourages both personal and professional development, while stimulating exploration and curiosity. As a graphic design major at Marywood, you will have 24-hour access to 2 fully-equipped computer labs, loaded with Adobe Creative Suite and other industry-standard software. State-of-the-art darkrooms and photography studios are also available for student use.
Students are required to complete an internship and participate in the Senior Exhibition.
Download the Graphic Design course sequence sheet for a breakdown of classes each semester.
Students in the Graphic Design track often minor in Illustration, Photography, Communications, Advertising, or Business. Speak with your faculty advisor to learn more about adding a Minor.
