Marywood University is co-sponsoring a Medication Take-Back event in partnership with the Scranton Police Department, and the Lackawanna/Susquehanna Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the entrance to the University, 2300 Adams Avenue, Scranton, Pa. This is a Marywood University student project organized by Shanna Carwell and Austin Maylor, senior biotechnology students.

Community members can drop off unused or expired medications including: prescription medication; over-the-counter medications (pain relief, antacids, cold medications, laxatives); eye drops; dietary supplements; vitamins; herbal supplements; topical medications (creams, gels, ointments), and pet medication. Inhalers, needles, or open liquid medications cannot be accepted.

The Medication Take-Back event at Marywood University aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription and over-the-counter medications, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
