Marywood University’s Office of Military and Veteran Services and its Student Veteran Alliance (SVA) will honor those who are serving and those who have served our country on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. A digital presentation will be made from photos submitted by Marywood community members. Students, faculty, and staff are asked to submit photos of themselves, friends, and family members who are serving or have served for our country. Please submit photos to: [email protected].

In addition, the SVA will have message boards set up in the Memorial Gardens, where Marywood community members can write messages to active or veteran military members. A book of names of veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice will be available to view at the University’s Veterans Resource Center, 2236 N. Washington Avenue, Scranton, Pa.

Because of COVID-19 safety restrictions, all visitors to the Veterans Day events on campus are required to wear a mask and to maintain a 6-foot physical distance. Visitors who are writing a message to active or veteran military members are asked to bring their own markers.

The Marywood University Student Veteran Alliance has been named an official chapter of the Student Veterans of America. Its mission is to provide active military, veterans, and their families with advocacy and resources necessary to support their successful transition to and through Marywood University, with the ultimate goal of employment following graduation.
