Marywood University department of Communication Sciences and Disorders student, Hannah Longacre, junior, Chambersburg, Pa., merited honorable mention at the 2021 Marywood University Research Day in the category of Undergraduate Poster.
Ms. Longacre, who conducted a research project with Vijayachandra Ramachandra, Ph.D., academic faculty at Marywood, submitted her project titled, “Unmasking the Psychology of Recognizing Emotions of People Wearing Masks.” Ms. Longacre’s research was presented in the category of Undergraduate Poster for Outstanding Innovative Approach. She also won the second-place prize in the Biological Sciences and Health Category at the 10th annual Pennsylvania State Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Marywood University’s annual Research Day was conducted virtually this year, which allowed faculty, students, and the community the opportunity to comment on research and ask questions of presenters via an online platform. Pre-recordings and live presentations were available, and each of the sessions was recorded for those who wished to access the presentations at a later date.
