Space Advisory Committee
Purpose & Function
The Space Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the President of the University regarding space allocation, with due regard for the overall priorities and needs of the institution. The committee
- formulates policies for space allocation;
- reviews and prioritizes space requests;
- recommends space modifications and changes in response to requests;
- plans for short term reallocation of space when required;
- tracks use of existing space, e.g., classroom and lab utilization;
- analyzes use of existing space and makes recommendations for change based on usage patterns.

Other non-voting employees are invited to selected meetings, at the discretion of the Chair, for their interest and expertise.
Term
The Chair serves at the discretion of the President of the University.
All positions on this committee are Ex officio.
Meetings
The Committee meets at least once each semester.

10/29/09 - The former Space Committee was raised to the level of a University Standing Committee by the President of the University as recommended by the Policy Committee of the University.
10/13/10 - The position of Chief Planning Officer was deleted and the position of Director of Institutional Research and Assessment was added.
07/01/11 - Title changed from Povost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to Vice President for Academic Affairs.
05/23/12 - Title changed from Director of Institutional Research and Assessment to Director of Planning and Institutional Research.
08/01/14 - Title changed from Director of Planning and Institutional Research to Senior DIrector for Institutional Research; title changed from Vice President for Student Life to Vice President for Enrollment Services and Student Success; position of Vice President for Enrollment Management removed.
12/15/15 - The proposal to add the positions of All Academic Deans and Registrar to the membership of this University Standing Committee, and the resulting changes to its Description, was approved by the President of the University, as recommended by The President’s Cabinet.
10/03/19 - Title changed from Senior Director of Institutional Research to Assistant Provost; title changed from Vice President for Academic Affairs to Provost; and, due to Academic Restructuring, all Deans were removed from membership, as recommended by the Provost.
