The Marywood Speech/Language & Audiology Clinics are housed in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders which is centrally located in the McGowan Center for Graduate and Professional Studies.

The Speech/Language Clinic includes:

  • Six (6) therapy rooms
  • Two (2) diagnostic rooms
  • A play group/child language group room
  • Two-way windows and video monitoring capabilities
  • Speech Science Lab
  • Clinical Preparation Room

The Audiology Clinic includes:

  • Hearing Aid Evaluation and Aural Rehabilitation Room
  • Audiology Suite

Clinic Services: Speech/Language

  • Each CSD undergraduate and graduate student clinician is assigned 1-4 clients, based on their level of study; all student clinicians are supervised by ASHA-certified, PA state licensed speech-language pathologists who serve as full- and part-time clinical faculty
  • Clients range in age from 3 years old to 70-plus years of age
  • Clinics sessions are 45 minutes in length, starting at the top of the hour
  • Therapy is provided for individuals with a wide range of communication disorders, delays and differences such as language, articulation and phonology, aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysfluency and voice as well as for individuals with hearing impairments
  • Comprehensive speech-language evaluations are also offered during the spring and summer semesters 
  • An Aphasia Group providing services to adults recovering from a stroke is also available; this group hosts approximately 10-15 clients per week
  • Clinic Hours: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. There are generally 65 to 70 clients served in our on-campus clinic each semester

Clinic Services: Audiology

  • Each CSD Graduate student completes a practicum in audiology; all students are supervised by ASHA-certified, PA state licensed audiologists who serve as full- and part- time clinical faculty
  • Clients range in age from 3 years old to 90-plus years of age
  • Hearing evaluations, hearing aid consultations, fittings, and maintenance services are completed
  • CAPD testing with follow up recommendations is available
  • Hearing screenings are completed for community health fairs as well as occupational and safety seminars
