John Kascht
Since launching his career as a freelance political cartoonist at the Waukesha Freeman at age 14, John Kascht’s satirical illustrations have appeared in most major US publications, and on book covers, CDs, and Broadway marquees. In recent years Kascht has also written and produced multimedia features for websites and apps, adding another dimension to his trademark examinations of political and celebrity culture.
Considered a contemporary master of caricature, John has been the subject of documentary segments for the Smithsonian, public television and the Discovery Channel. Two dozen of his works are in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery.
John’s work is regularly included in the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration,and Communication Arts annuals, and has earned gold and silver awards from The New York Art Director’s Club, SPD, and The Society for News Design.
