Melanie Hall is a widely exhibited children's book illustrator who has been featured in major art and publishing journals. The Mazzas Museum purchased one of her original pieces of book art


Melanie Hall is an illustrator and painter living just north of New York City in the Hudson River Valley.

She says, "The focus of my art is not just the outside appearance of people, animals, and places, but also a a perception of inner life, a depiction of the joy and mystery of existence."

Melanie has illustrated over 25 children's books and has received numerous awards including the Parents' Choice Award for an outstanding picture book. Her work has been exhibited at the Original Art Show at the Society of Illustrators in New York, and her books have been favorably reviewed by the New York Times Book Review.

Melanie is currently teaching children's book illustration to graduate students at Marywood University's MFA program in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She teaches creative workshops at the Highlights Foundation in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and adult education classes at BOCES in Port Ewen, New York.
