Location

  • Situated on a hill top, Marywood has a scenic 115-acre campus.
  • The University is part of an attractive residential area in the city of Scranton, nestled in northeastern Pennsylvania.
  • With a population over 70,000, Scranton is the sixth-largest city in Pennsylvania.
  • Several airlines serve the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, which is 20 minutes from campus.
  • The Pocono Mountains offer spectacular scenery and an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities and they are only a short distance from campus.
  • Marywood is central to some major cities of the northeast.

Academic Programs

  • Marywood's programs are administered through four degree-granting colleges.
  • Undergraduate degrees are offered in over 60 academic programs and graduate degrees in over 30 academic programs.
  • Opportunities for students abound through double majors, honors and independent study programs, practicums, internships, and studying abroad.
  • Several of our undergraduate programs offer accelerated degrees, which allow a student to complete both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years.
  • Army and Air Force ROTC programs are available.

 

The University is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104; 267-284-5000), and its programs are accredited by the overseeing organizations in each discipline.

Financial Aid

  • To assist students in meeting educational costs, Marywood University offers a variety of financial aid through scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.
  • Over $26 million of institutional aid is awarded annually to Marywood students.
  • Eligibility for federal and state-funded programs is based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Applicants to Marywood are considered for all financial assistance programs for which they qualify and a federal eligibility formula is used to analyze family income and assets.
  • are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Marywood application form, preferably by February 15.
