Dear Alumni and Friends of Marywood University,
As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with sentiments of gratitude. What wonderful blessings have been bestowed upon the Marywood community because of generous, dedicated alumni and friends like you. You continually rise to the occasion to support and empower our students. Thank you for giving your time and resources to strengthen and support Marywood’s Mission. Our students become changemakers and leaders who serve others for the greater good. The shared strength of your collective commitment has ensured our solid footing in the landscape of higher education and has given us the courage to commit to new adventures as we confidently move forward.
And moving forward, we are! Your gifts are enabling our students to be curious, innovative, and industrious as they learn from engaged and compassionate faculty who are leaders in their fields. Your gifts are providing our students access to facilities designed perfectly for their majors. In these facilities, they have exposure to extracurricular activities that allow them to link academic learning with real world experiences and provide them opportunities to serve that will inspire them long after graduation. Your gifts are the reason Marywood moves forward with new majors like Construction Management, innovative classrooms that are able to pivot to on-line learning when needed, and new programs like Esports, an exciting addition that develops a next- generation-athlete, skilled in problem solving and team building.
These changes on our campus are indeed signs that Marywood is moving forward, letting go of the grip we have on the shore and venturing out into new waters where we will find excitement, sustaining life, and challenging adventures. Your vision and willingness to support Marywood with your gifts is the reason we are on this trajectory to new heights. You are the key to our successes. As we look to the horizon at the promise of our next adventure, thank you for making this year one that was truly full of blessings.
With great gratitude,
Sister Mary Persico, IHM, Ed.D. ’69, President
