Tim Lane is a graphic novelist and freelance illustrator. His recent graphic novel, Abandoned Cars, published by Fantagraphics Books, was nominated for the Ignatz Award for Outstanding Collection of Stories and has been translated into French and Spanish. The paperback edition of Abandoned Cars will be released in April 2010. Lane's comics are widely published in anthologies, including Fantagraphics' Hotwire and MOME, and DC Comic's Bizarro World.
As a freelance illustrator, Lane's clients include Rolling Stone, Wired, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe, among many others. His work regularly appears on The New York Times OP-ED page, and was recently included in a book covering the history of The New York Times OP-ED page from its inception to the present, All the Art That's Fit to Print (And Some That Wasn't): Inside The New York Times Op-Ed Page, edited by former New York Times art director, Jerelle Kraus, and published by Columbia University Press.
Lane has also produced weekly "illustrated columns" for the New York Press and the Riverfront Times, as well as producing "comic feature stories."
