Creative Expression Lab is an inspiring space for K-6 artists to express creativity and imagination, and to explore social and emotional growth. The program will provide a space to express autonomy and independence and practice active decision-making. Weekly themes will integrate social and emotional concepts such as empathy, respect, understanding one’s emotions, and developing skills for positive social interactions.
Participating artists will benefit from the educational and cultural resources offered through the museum as well as the opportunity to focus on each artist’s personal creativity and self-expression. In connection to the Eyes on America exhibition, virtual resources will be provided to each artist. Artists will
have access to art materials kits that will be provided with each weekly thematic focus, weekly process art videos, and social and emotional themed resources for parents/caregivers. Additionally, artists will have the option to participate in creative expressive art studio sessions.
This event was developed in partnership with Marywood University Art Therapy and in connection to the Eyes on America exhibition.
