Sister Theresa Maxis Medal
Policy Statement
The Sister Theresa Maxis Medal is awarded to professional personnel and hourly employees who will have completed twenty cumulative years of full-time or regular part-time service to Marywood University during the year the award is given. It expresses the esteem and appreciation of the University for the individual's years of faithful service.
The award is a round medallion on a stand, featuring the replica of Sister Theresa Duchemin Maxis, co-founder with Rev. Louis Florent Gillet, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is surrounded by the words "Sister Theresa Maxis Service Award."

Procedures
A committee of five former medalists works with the Director of Human Resources.

1996 - First year the medal was awarded
12/17/2004 - Approved by the President of the University, as recommended by the Policy Committee of the University, to remove reference to the Sister Theresa Maxis Medal in the Years of Service Awards policy in favor of establishing a policy in its own right.
08/28/2020 - Title change from Assistant Vice President for Human Resources to Director of Human Resources.
