I have truly loved attending Marywood and especially love being a part of the counseling
program here. The faculty, staff, and students are all so kind and helpful which gives me a great sense of community. I love the Marywood community and the countless opportunities to get involved with others as well as the university and the community as a whole. I served as the President for Chi Sigma Iota last year, which is our honor society for counseling here at Marywood, which was an awesome experience! I loved being able to interact so much with my peers and supervisors and gain tons of leadership skills in the process. My favorite part about being a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student is the cohort model here in our program. I have met some of my best friends and biggest supporters in this program and experienced my entire graduate school experience with them. I look back and really feel good about the things I have done being a student here at Marywood! If you are considering becoming a student here, don't hesitate to reach out to any of the instructors, students, or alumni. Everyone is always kind and always willing to help!

I began the School Counseling Program at Marywood after completing my undergraduate degree at another University. I have found the graduate program at Marywood to be a breath of fresh air compared to my previous university. The other students and the faculty of the Marywood University Counseling Department were very welcoming and the small class settings encouraged me to take on an active role in the in the program. Through this program, I have gotten to work closely with my peers helping me to create a strong support system as we move through our courses together. Marywood has also allowed me to begin working with and networking with professionals in the field of school counseling allowing me to have a leg up on post-graduate job search.

My experience at Marywood thus far has been rewarding and has positively challenged me in order to reach my goals in the best ways possible! The classes and professors push the students here to be the best version of themselves in order to be the best future counselors while caring about our individual self-care. Marywood has been able to teach me to adapt to life situations, while still feeling supported and encouraged to reach my goals throughout the program.

I have had the pleasure of attending Marywood for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. During my time in the School Counseling Masters program, I have had the opportunity to hold a Graduate Assistantship and participate in multiple clubs and organizations. I currently hold the position of vice president of Marywood’s counseling honor society, Chi Sigma Iota. This program has fantastic professors who help cultivate a welcoming atmosphere. The class sizes are typically small which allows you to become well acquainted with your cohort. The program is challenging in the best ways possible and allows all students who attend here to flourish and expand their world views. My absolute favorite part of the program is the gateway to other experiences beyond the classroom. These include things such as volunteer opportunities in the local community, clubs who welcome graduate students, and the opportunities to attend local and national conferences. There is no doubt that Marywood's program has prepared me for a successful future in the counseling field and I would recommend it to anyone!

The academic and fieldwork experience has helped me develop the critical thinking skills that are necessary for this field. The professors have been endlessly encouraging, and I have gained a supportive environment through peers in my cohort. I am very proud to have been able to attend Marywood for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. The numerous opportunities that Marywood has to offer has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally through leadership opportunities and networking.
