Sister Anne Munley, IHM, President of Marywood University, appointed Dr. Alan M. Levine, Ph.D. as Vice President for Academic Affairs effective July 1, 2011. The Board of Trustees approved this appointment on April 16, 2011. Dr. Levine has been part of Marywood for 33 years beginning as an Instructor and rising to Full Professor.

Tennis Coach of the Year - Art Comstock was named CSAC Coach of the Year after leading the Pacers to an undefeated conference regular season and their second straight CSAC title and NCAA tournament berth.

Sister M. Coleman Nee, ninth President of Marywood University, dies on July 9, 2011. Sister guided the University for 18 years, from 1970 - 1988.

On August 3, 2011, Sister Anne Munley and Sister Catherine Luxner visited Washington D.C. along with other participating colleges and universities to celebrate the launch of the Inter-faith Challenge, connect with other participants and discuss respective campus plans. This initiative "invites institutions of higher education to commit to a year of interfaith and community service programming on campus.
In May 2011, Sister Anne Munley created a sixteen-member task force representing all areas of the University. Focusing on "Domestic Poverty and Educational Opportunity", Marywood University will initiate a number of programs such as the collection and distribution of blankets for homeless persons, food collections for area pantries and cultural competency training for its employees. Sister Anne stated: " We remain committed to creating culturally diverse and global educational experiences for our students, so they can become positive forces for good in this complex world."
