Wind Turbine sale to Marywood University - The WindTamer Corporation sold a model 96GT-3500 wind turbine to Marywood on April 13, 2010. The sale was the company's first in Pennsylvania and first to a University. The turbine is a free-standing unit to be placed near the Athletic Center and visible along the Interstate 81 corridor. Marywood plans to use the turbine to help power the University's new Aquatics Center. The unit was installed in May 2010.

The Website Management Committee - Sister Anne Munley establishes a standing committee, the Website Management Committee, to oversee the management of the Marywood University website. This committee will recommend policies and develop protocols and procedures that will enable the university to advance to the next level in offering a comprehensive, user-centered experience for interactive communication among all University constituencies.

On August 30, 2010, Collier Parker, M.F.A. begins his service as Dean of the Insalaco College of Creative and Performing Arts at Marywood. He has come to Marywood from Delta State University in Cleveland Mississippi where he served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences as well as Chair and Professor of Art.

Marywood University School of Social Work receives the Catholic Charities USA Centennial Medal in the Library of Congress, Washington D.C.. This award recognizes Marywood's contributions to the reduction of poverty in the United States and its commitment to the principles of Catholic Charities USA. The Marywood University School of Social Work is the leading provider of social work education in Northeast Pennsylvania, having educated more than 4,000 MSW and 500 BSW social workers since 1969.

Marywood University Uses Mine Water for Energy - In an effort to continue Marywood's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, abandoned mine shafts beneath the campus have a new purpose in the quest for alternative energy sources. Marywood and Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., an engineering and construction services firm, recently repurposed abandoned coal mines underneath the campus into a source of geothermal energy for the Center of Architectural Studies. Ground-coupled geothermal systems use the constant temperature of the earth's crust to exchange energy for heating and cooling applications. The new geothermal system utilizes two wells to extract energy from the earth. This system was completed during the summer of 2010 and serves a portion of the cooling needs of the Center of Architectural Studies.

Marywood University Women Soccer Team wins the ECAC Region Championship - the women's soccer team claimed Marywood's first ever post-season tournament by winning the ECAC South Region championship - their overall record for the year was 15-4-3.

Ann and David Hawk are recognized for their generosity to Marywood University and the community by having the gallery space in the Center for Architectural Studies named in their honor. The space is used by students to showcase their projects and by the University for special gatherings.
