Tutoring Centers Open on August 29 for the Fall 2022 semester.
Individual Tutoring
Individual tutoring, our most popular type of tutoring, provides one-on-one support for our students. Individual tutoring allows you and your tutor to develop a relationship over the course of a semester or year. In this setting, tutors often offer not only academic support, but also time management and study skills. Students must understand that the tutor pairing process may take a few business days and that tutoring is not to be utilized for a last-minute cram session Tutors and tutees agree to meet weekly once they are paired.
- Please wait until after the first week of classes to request a tutor. This is so you have a feel for what each class will be like and where you need assistance. Remember that when you request a tutor, you make a commitment to meet each week for that subject.
- Students seeking tutoring in math, science, or writing for any subject should first attend tutoring in the appropriate centers.
- To request an individual or small group tutor, please complete the tutor request form. You must be signed in to your Marywood Google account.
Small Group Tutoring
The process for small group tutoring is the same as individual tutoring. Tutors assist two or three students during a tutoring session. Small group tutoring is equally, if not sometimes better than, individual tutoring. Students benefit from thoughts and opinions of their peers in addition to the support of the tutor.
Drop-In Centers
Our drop-in centers are perfect for busy students who do not need weekly support or students who are looking for additional support on top of their individual tutoring. Please see the hours, location, and protocols for the Math and Science centers below.
